YOUR NEXT PROFESSIONAL CHAPTER

Find your direction.
Explore work or business.

Personal guidance for job seekers and aspiring business owners: from a focused search or business idea to organised documents and practical next steps.

Sweden job search

We help with CV and LinkedIn preparation, target-role research, networking and a practical search plan.

Coming from abroad to look for work?

The highly qualified route is for applicants with a completed qualification equivalent to second-cycle studies who are outside Sweden. It can allow up to nine months to look for work or explore a business.

Requirements include a valid passport, funds of at least SEK 13,000 per month plus return-travel funds, and comprehensive health insurance. Prepare degree, course-list and supporting evidence, including consent for qualification verification.

This is not a general permission to work. If you find a job, check the work-permit application and work-start conditions before beginning employment. Other rules apply to EU/EEA citizens and certain other groups.

Start your own company

Get help organising your business idea, market research, business plan and draft financial forecasts. We guide you through company-form choices, registration preparation, tax-registration information and banking requirements.

Company registration and residence permission

Registering a company does not itself give you permission to live or work in Sweden. The self-employed residence route has separate requirements, including relevant experience, controlling ownership, credible finances and customer contacts.

Exploring a business under a job-search permit and applying to run it as a self-employed person are distinct stages. Check the conditions for your status before starting operations.

Discuss your business plans

Requirements checked in October 2026; confirm current conditions through the official links. We provide planning and preparation support, with scope and fees agreed in advance. Jobs, permits, bank accounts and business outcomes are decided by employers, authorities or providers. Specialist accounting, tax or legal work is agreed separately with an appropriate professional.

PRACTICAL PREPARATION FOR YOUR MOVE

Before you travel.
Know your next step.

For students, professionals and accompanying family applying for a residence permit. Your citizenship, permit route and country of legal residence determine which steps apply. EU/EEA citizens and other groups may follow different routes.

Passport checks: follow your application instructions

A passport copy submitted with your application may not complete the identity check. Follow the Swedish Migration Agency’s instructions about presenting your original passport or using its digital passport-check service.

Digital checks are available only to eligible applicants who receive a personal invitation. Having a passport with a chip does not, by itself, mean you can use the service.

Passport checks and the digital option
Biometrics: a separate step for your permit card

Biometrics means the photograph and fingerprints used for a residence permit card, with exceptions such as fingerprints for young children. A passport check, biometrics appointment and interview are different steps; the authority may arrange some together.

Check which embassy or consulate-general handles your case, whether an appointment is required and what to bring. Walk-in rules and opening hours differ by location.

Find the responsible embassy
After approval: check when you can travel

For first-time study or work permit applications made abroad, obtain the required approval before travelling. If you need an entry visa, you generally need to provide biometrics abroad and receive your residence permit card before departure. Visa-exempt applicants can generally provide biometrics after arrival following approval. Follow the instructions for your own route.

A residence permit card proves your permission to stay; it does not replace a passport.

Moving with family: check each person’s steps

Prepare a document list for every family member. Passport checks, photographs, fingerprints and attendance requirements may differ for children. Confirm the instructions for your family’s application rather than assuming one appointment covers everyone.

Study applicants and accompanying family
Prepare an arrival folder and your first week

Keep your passport, permit decision and card where applicable, admission or employment information, accommodation details and insurance information accessible. Follow your official document checklist and keep secure copies separately.

Confirm your arrival address, journey from the airport, check-in arrangements and university or employer contact. Then use our arrival checklist to organise housing, registration, banking and healthcare.

Use the first-weeks checklist

Need help organising the steps? We can help you read the instructions, prepare a document checklist and plan appointments and arrival tasks. Identity checks and biometrics must be completed through the relevant official service.

Ask about pre-arrival support

General guidance reviewed in October 2026. Appointment arrangements and entry requirements vary; confirm your current instructions with the Swedish Migration Agency and the responsible embassy before booking travel.

GOOD QUESTIONS TO ASK

Know what to expect.

Do I need a consultant to apply?

No. You can research programmes and apply directly through University Admissions, universities and the Swedish Migration Agency. Our service is optional: we help you compare choices, organise deadlines and documents, and prepare for life in Sweden.

What should I prepare for our first conversation?

Share your intended degree or purpose of moving, subject interests, destination, approximate timeline and budget. For studies, a brief summary of your qualifications helps us understand your starting point. We agree any document review separately.

Can you guarantee admission, a permit or accommodation?

No. Universities, authorities, banks and housing providers make their own decisions. The service helps you understand requirements, prepare documents and organise your next steps.

Can I get a personnummer and BankID immediately?

Not automatically. Population registration depends on your circumstances; an intended stay of at least one year is generally relevant. Skatteverket assesses eligibility. BankID requires a Swedish personal identity number and approval by an issuing bank. A bank account does not itself guarantee BankID.

Do you help with studies outside Sweden?

Yes, with programme research, application planning, motivation letters and scholarship searches for European destinations. Each country's admission and residence requirements need separate checks. Settling-in support focuses on Sweden.

Can you help me in person in Skåne?

Yes. People arriving in Skåne, including students coming to universities in the region, can request direct, in-person support. We agree the location, tasks, timing and quote in advance. Availability and any travel costs are confirmed before booking.

Can you guide me on A-kassa and benefits if I lose my job?

Yes. We help you understand membership, organise documents and plan application steps. A-kassa funds assess and pay unemployment insurance benefits. Försäkringskassan pays activity support or development allowance for eligible participants in Arbetsförmedlingen programmes, and introduction benefit for eligible participants in its introduction programme. These are different forms of support. Register with Arbetsförmedlingen on your first day of unemployment and ask your fund or the relevant authority what applies to you. Membership or arrival in Sweden does not automatically entitle you to benefits.

A-kassa guidance · Försäkringskassan support for job seekers

What does the service cost?

Prices are provided through a personal quote. Choose a consultation, Application Support or Student Arrival, or ask for a tailored package. We confirm the work included, revision limits, delivery timeline and payment terms in writing before you book. Student-friendly options and staged payments can be discussed. Third-party fees and expenses are separate.

Will you handle my BankID or private accounts?

No. You remain in control of your accounts and submit your own applications. Never share BankID codes, passwords or one-time authentication codes. Please do not include passport copies or personal identity numbers in an initial enquiry.
